Biografia artista: Antonio Biasiucci nasce a Dragoni (Caserta) nel 1961. Nel 1980 si trasferisce a Napoli, dove comincia un lavoro sugli spazi delle periferie urbane e contemporaneamente una ricerca sulla memoria personale, fotografando riti, ambienti e persone del paese nativo.
Fin dagli inizi la sua ricerca si radica nei temi della cultura del Sud e si trasforma, in anni recenti, in un viaggio dentro gli elementi primari dell’esistenza. Nel 1984 inizia una collaborazione con l’Osservatorio Vesuviano, svolgendo un ampio lavoro sui vulcani attivi in Italia.
Ha ottenuto importanti riconoscimenti, tra cui nel 1992, ad Arles, il premio “European Kodak Panorama”, nel 2005 il “Kraszna/Krausz Photography Book Awards” per la pubblicazione del volume Res. Lo stato delle cose, sempre nel 2005 il “Premio Bastianelli”, e nel 2016 il "Premio Cultura Sorrento". Numerosissime le mostre personali e le partecipazioni a mostre collettive, a festival e rassegne nazionali e internazionali. Ha inoltre collaborato a diversi progetti editoriali e ha partecipato a importanti iniziative culturali di carattere sociale. Biasiucci è stato invitato fra gli artisti del Padiglione Italia alla Biennale di Venezia del 2015.
È docente di “Fotografia come linguaggio artistico” presso l'Accademia di Belle Arti di Napoli. Nel 2012 fonda il “LAB/per un laboratorio irregolare” come azione di volontariato sociale.
